History and education:
George A. Otstott, a Texas injury and trial lawyer, is a native of Dallas, Texas, where he was born in 1943. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1961 and graduated from S.M.U. in 1965 with a B.A. in English. He also attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He graduated from S.M.U. Law School in 1968, where he was the recipient of the Wynne, Jaffe & Tinsley Moot Court Award. 





Practice areas:
Mr. Otstott entered private law practice in Dallas in 1968 representing injured people with a heavy emphasis in job injuries and negligence cases involving car, truck, bus and other vehicular accidents, as well as practicing in the areas of medical negligence, products liability and nursing home abuse cases. 

Today, his practice includes all of those areas with the addition of mass torts, class actions, employer/employee bad faith, bad drugs, vehicle rollovers, consumer fraud, and privacy based lawsuits. He is licensed to practice in all Texas State Courts, in the Federal District Courts in the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  

Professional associations:
Mr. Otstott is a member of the American Association for Justice, the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Northeast Texas Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, and he is a founding sponsor of the Civil Justice Foundation. 

Teaching in Poland:
In addition to obtaining and participating with other law firms to obtain millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients over the years, Mr. Otstott is a visiting professor in American Law Studies at the University of Marie Curie-Sklodowskiej School of Law in Lublin, Poland (www.umcs.lublin.pl) , where he has taught every year since 2004.
